Day 33: Starting an Organic Veggie Garden
Jim: Hello, it’s Jim from Dadscure.com. Just want to say a few words tonight about my day.
My day has been a much better day today than it’s been for a while—more positive. I checked my Mum, she’d just come back from England. I haven’t seen her for 3 months. She’s coming over on Friday, with my sister, to visit, so I’m looking forward to that.
Now, Lena and I are going to start growing our own veggies, organic. We’re gonna have a veggie garden up at my son’s property. It’s in Brigadoon, up in the hills and there’s a section up there all reticulated and just ready to go; looking forward to doing something up there.
We’ll be doing our garden and put veggies and fruit trees in Bruce Rock, so wherever we are, we will have ample supply of fresh produce—all organic. Very, very hard to find nice organic produce, there’s probably something out there but we don’t know where. So if there’s anybody out there that know any good organic places or good places to get seedlings, organic, let us know because this is all new to us. It’s going to be an experience but we’re looking forward to it.
So, exciting days ahead and in 3 months’ time, we’re hoping to start eating this stuff. We’ll have lots of people to eat it anyway because we got quite a big family. So we’ll make sure we got plenty in.
So, looking forward to it anyway. I’ve got another week before I’m going to get a blood test, so we’re going to go up to Bruce Rock on the weekend for a few days and then I’m going to come back and have my blood test. There’ll be more to say about that sort of things on a later date.
But apart from that, everything today has been much, much better—thank God for that. It does, at times, get tough, you know, repetitiveness, this…same thing day in, day out—it isn’t easy. It takes a lot of self-control and I know if I didn’t have God to support me, I couldn’t do it. It’s a little bit not-your-eyed basket for an individual but the support I get out there, from family and everything, that’s what encourages you and keeps you going.
I can understand how other families, you know, we find it very, very hard. That’s why we want this message to get out to other people in the same problem as we have or similar, that if we can be supportive in any way, that’s what we’re all here for.
I’ll do a video up at the veggie patch tomorrow so you can see where we’ll be planting some stuff up there—beautiful spot. And I’ll put some pictures on the webpage and everything; it’s very nice.
OK, so until next time, you take care and God bless.
